About Me

Daniela

I identify as first generation, proud Latinx Mexican American from The Rio Grande Valley of Texas. A relatively new New Englander, adjusting to the harsh winters and humid summers of the region, I have come to find a home in the Boston area. After earning a full scholarship and becoming the first person in my family to attend and graduate from college, I pursued a career in service of working class immigrant communities such as my own, first as a paralegal for an immigration and criminal defense law practice and later as an educator for English Language learning students for Boston Public Schools. My passion for social justice has informed my professional career trajectory, I have enjoyed my direct service and advocacy work around diversity, equity and inclusion, and it will surely inform my recent pivot into the private sector and the field of tech, by taking part in a company's affinity and employee resource groups and contributing to corporate social responsibility initiatives. Other interests on mine include environmental justice, particularly how our generation and the proceeding will make an equitable clean energy transition, reading, enjoying the outdoors and staying active, and cooking new dishes.
